Dominique Bottemanne
1961, Belgium
The principal subjects of Dominique Bottemanne oscillate between the animal world and representations of women that mingle envy and desire in idealized relationships. Often dissatisfied with his own work, he is able to look at it critically and to find other ways of achieving the result sought after.
Without hesitation, he can switch from linocuts to oil painting, or to sculpture. His energy is divided between gouges and brushes. Excitable yet attentive, high spirited yet hard working, he sticks to a job until the end.
He works in the Home Livemont’s studio since he is 25.
