André Prues
1967, Belgium
André Prues always seemed encumbered with culture and references that left him destitute for artistic expression. Subject to influences, anecdotic, his work was not very interesting, until he found his way: dots and small lines, like love letters where the chosen hearts roam. Ballpoint, pen-nibs and felt-tips draw maps of words visited by dreams, imagination and unconscious. Topographical maps where we can read oceans, mountains and cultivated plains.
We travel across insect territories, perceive mineral and vegetable in all their complexity. He discovers and conquers the spaces he draws, the only frontier is the edge of the paper, and then again...
He works in the studio of the Centre Reine Fabiola since...
